Extended Hours Service

Purpose:

To provide longer hours of child care assistance to meet the social needs of families and working parents.

Target service users:

a. Parents are required to work long hours or irregular hours; or

b. Parents are required to attend retraining courses or seek employment; or

c. Parents or other family members having urgent or other matters, are unable to the child; or

d. Family members are handicapped or suffer from chronic diseases or require long-term hospital care; or

e. Lack of network/support for child care for single-parents; or

f. Families recommended by social workers due to special needs.

Application procedures:

Register by phone or in person during opening hours.

Service hours:

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

(Service will be suspended on Sunday, public holidays, school closures or school suspensions)

Charges:

$13 per hour ( as approved by the Social Welfare Department )
