To help young children express their life experiences and emotional states in different contexts, and to enhance their understanding of emotions and their connection to the body, the “Sunshine Children Art Therapy Group” adopts a person-centered art therapy approach. The focus is on creating a safe space where children can use a variety of art materials to create thematic artworks, organize their life experiences, and freely express their personal experiences and emotions within the group.

Each session features a different expression theme, including: self and emotions, family life, school life, and more. Through the use of various art materials, children are guided to create artworks that reflect their self-image and life experiences. The facilitator will also share with children, at appropriate times, the physical reactions associated with different emotions, helping children gradually understand how emotions affect them.

This year, the school has joined the “Keeping Children Safe School” Support and Commendation Scheme organized by Plan International Hong Kong and has applied to become a “Keeping Children Safe Quality School.” Under this scheme, Plan International Hong Kong not only provides training for teaching staff but also offers various workshops for students. In this activity, the instructor will begin with a “Finding Lost Items” warm-up game to open the door to imagination, followed by a picture book reading to inspire creative ideas. After children understand the key elements of creating a picture book, they will learn to create their own picture book and share it with others during a presentation session.

The theme of this 24 Solar Terms Series Birthday Party is “Biting into Spring’s Sweetness, Joyful Start of Spring.” Teachers have prepared activities including a Radish Defense Game, making spring rolls, and an inflatable bounce house. Storytelling parents have also been arranged to tell stories with the children, making it a joyful birthday celebration together.

The school has invited representatives from World Vision Hong Kong to conduct a life education talk for K2 and K3 students, themed “Granny Flower Skirt’s Loving Farm.” Through a visit to Granny Flower Skirt’s farm, children will learn how she shares resources such as food, shelter, and knowledge with her neighbors. This helps children experience the joy of mutual support within the community and cultivates the values of generosity and helping others.

To complement the theme “Hygiene,” the school has arranged for K1 students to be led by their class teachers during the morning class session to visit the Health Education Exhibition and Resource Centre. Through interactive games, children will learn about food hygiene and environmental hygiene.
